Didn't realize how much fabric my old belt had until I tried this one. The minimal design keeps everything cinched without any bulk digging into my hips on long climbs. Weight sits on my hips instead of my shoulders, exactly what I wanted.

Swapped my old padded belt for this and dropped a few ounces I don't miss at all. The stripped-down strap still keeps the weight on my hips instead of my shoulders, even on a 12-mile day. Just wish the buckle sat a touch flatter, but that's nitpicking.

After carrying a loaded pack through the Sierra for three days, the streamlined design really proved itself. My shoulders felt noticeably freer since the weight shifted to my hips without that extra strip of fabric adding bulk. It's a simple swap that makes a real difference on a long trail.
